Terms of Service

By creating an account or using PicklMate (“we”, “us”, “the platform”) at picklmate.com or organize.picklmate.com, you (“you”, “the user”) agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these terms. You are responsible for all activity on your account, for keeping your password secure, and for notifying us promptly of any unauthorised access.

2. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the platform for fraudulent or deceptive purposes
  • Misrepresent your identity, your organization, or the details of any tournament
  • Run tournaments that violate applicable Indian law
  • Collect more personal information from registered players than necessary for the tournament
  • Spam, harass, intimidate, or harm other users
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without our written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload, including organization logos, tournament descriptions, banners, and other media. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, distribute, and modify (as needed for display) that content for the purpose of operating the platform.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and display anything you post on the platform.

4. Tournaments you organize

When you create a tournament on PicklMate, you are the organizer of record. You set the rules, format, schedule, prize structure, and (when paid registrations become available) the entry fees and refund policy.

PicklMate is a software platform that helps you organize tournaments. We are not a party to the tournament itself, and we are not responsible for on-court decisions, disputes between players, or the conduct of your tournament. You are responsible for handling communications with registered players and for any disputes arising from the tournament.

5. Payment processing (planned)

Payment processing on PicklMate is currently in development. When it becomes available:

  • Payments will be processed through a regulated payment service provider authorised by the Reserve Bank of India
  • KYC verification will be required before you can accept paid registrations
  • A platform fee (planned at 2% of each paid registration, paid by the player in addition to the entry fee) will apply
  • Settlements will be made to your verified bank account on a schedule disclosed at the time of activation
  • Additional payment-specific terms will be presented to you when you enable paid registrations, and you will need to accept them separately

Until payment features are enabled for your account, no payment-related terms in this section apply to you.

6. Service availability & warranty disclaimer

We aim for reliable service but make no representations or warranties that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PicklMate is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ₹10,000.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or liability arising from your tournaments, your conduct on the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, with notice where reasonable. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ends. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive (including ownership of content, limitations of liability, governing law) will survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post material changes within the platform and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may close your account.

11. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
